Dark Side Down Under 2nd anniversary Halloween blog hop

Welcome to the Dark Side Down Under 2nd anniversary Halloween blog hop!

We've got a bunch of paranormal folks blogging, and a bunch of cool prizes!

Halloween, folks. Ooga booga, trick or treat. Pumpkins, scary costumes and candy/lollies for all. Treats ahoy.

But what about the trick part? The threat of mischief and shenanigans on anyone who plays the Halloween equivalent of Ebenezer Scrooge. No candy? Fine. It gets the hose. Or a dog poo pie. Or I HEART JUSTIN BIEBER soaped onto its front window. No mercy.

Does anyone actually follow through with this? Please, I'd really like to know. This is my first Halloween in a Halloween-friendly country (yeah, they love this stuff in Blighty. Who knew?) and I expect herds of kiddies at my door who will think I know what to do. Do I just feed 'em and shoo 'em away? How many lollies is enough?

I'll let you know how it goes :) In the meantime... want to win a free ebook? And more cool stuff? Of course you do. Read on...

The prize here on this blog is my sexy vampire romance short HUNTER'S BLOOD, which takes place one steamy Halloween eve... or, if you prefer some kick-ass sci-fi adventure, you can choose a pre-order of my awesome secret-agent-heroine space opera, DRAGONFLY!!

All you gotta do is answer me this question: if you could go to anyone's house and trick-or-treat them -- who would you choose? Real person or character, past/present/future, whatever you like. And what would be your trick if they didn't come through with the goods? A bonus entry if you tell me who should get the dog poo pie.

Me, I'd rock up at the Bat Cave. If Batman doesn't give me candy, I get to drive the Batmobile. Sounds fair to me...

Once you've done that? Click on through to the other blogs in the hop. They're all offering cool prizes too.

And... the grand prize for the blog hop is a $30 Amazon gift card! (See the DSDU post).

Here are the rules of the blog hop:

  2. Oh that's interesting that Halloween's big in the UK now. It never was when I lived there. Never went trick or treating or handed out sweeties :-)

  3. Can't wait to read about your first Halloween, Erica.

Hmmm if I went trick or treating....I'd go something with something in a mask - I think I still have the costume I used to be Batgirl at an RWAus conference :)

I love the idea of a Justin Bieber trick. How about 'I heart Justin Bieber' stickers all over the letterbox. Cruel. Very cruel. :)

  4. I want Dr Who to give me the Tardis. Just for a year, that's all, not such a big ask is it? Time, space, the universe wow. that's what I call travelling. I'd rock up, knock on the door, spin some yarn about the end of the world and walz inside. Easy.

  5. I'm think Eve Dallas and Roarke. I mean you could have a stern butler open the door, the tight Eve giving him stick... and sexy Roarke with the yummy accent :)

Yeah, I think that would be fabulous.

    Happy Halloversary!

  12. I would go to Zsadist's house. Love me some Z! I would leave the dog-poo at Phury's house; he annoyed me!

  13. As a Halloween virgin, I think I'd have to ask the Addams family for a few suggestions. Maybe engage them as my Halloween Planner.

  14. See, the one time I went Trick-or-Treating when I was younger, I never actually Tricked anyone. They did it to me. At one house the 20 something year old daughter told me they'd been waiting for me for hours, told me to hold on, she called her parents and they came running with water guns. Then at another house they let off Tom Thumbs all up there drive way to scare me off :(

So I liked someones suggestion of Julia Gillard. I think I'd go to her place, wouldn't bother with the treats and would just throw a fart bomb through her door and run.
